Vineyard
Westside Farms, our 75-acre ranch, has been in farmland since the mid-1800s and borders a mile and a half of the Russian River. The vineyard shares the same silty Yolo loam soils as Rochioli Vineyard a mile north.
Harvest Dates: Aug 21
Brix: 22.4˚
Soil: Yolo silty loam, derived from sedimentary formation in alluvial fans.
Clones: This vintage is from Block 4 and 5, which were planted in 2006 to Clone 4, with a few scattered vines of Musqué selection.
AVA: Russian River Valley
Winemaking
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Fermentation: We press whole clusters for phenolic delicacy. Native yeast and full native malolactic fermentations take place in barrel, with sur lies bâtonnage.
Aging: After fermentation and aging for 20 months entirely in concrete egg, the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity and texture and bottled without filtration in June 2022.
