2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Annum, Napa Valley
Vintage Notes
93 points, Robert Parker
“The brilliant 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum has licorice, floral notes, smoky underlying subtle oak, blackberry and cassis and a full-bodied mouthfeel with moderate but sweet tannin. This dense wine is exuberant/boisterous and should offer gorgeous drinking over the next 20+ years.”
2013 summed up to be a perfect vintage with clear sunny days and cool evenings, untroubled by untimely rain or heat spikes.
The 2013 Annum blend is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc.
Winemaking
Aging the 2013 sur lies with monthly bâtonnage has coated the tannins and smoothly integrated the wood. We aged this vintage 23 months in new French oak barrels (Taransaud and Darnajou). Non-filtered.
Winemaker Notes
The eighth vintage of this blend–it represents our version of a “winemaker’s wine.” Annum is the one red wine we make each year that allows us to select from a range of prestigious vineyards to make the best blend possible that vintage.
