2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, Annum, Napa Valley
Vintage Notes
The 2006 vintage started out slowly, with cool temperatures from March through June, pointing to a later than normal harvest. A ten-day heat wave in July pushed the season along, though, and these vineyards were harvested fully mature during the second half of October.
Winemaking
The blend is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. The vineyard sources are Schramsberg’s J. Davies Vineyard (61%) on Diamond Mountain, the Larkmead Vineyard (34%) in southern Calistoga and the Somerston Vineyard (5%) in eastern Napa Valley.
Winemaker Notes
The word annum is one form of the Latin noun meaning year, and our newest Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon, Annum, is the one yearly proprietary blend in our portfolio. Annum gives David Ramey the opportunity to blend fruit from some of Napa’s top vineyards to make an ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon.
