Review

Saturated, bright black-ruby. Knockout nose of cassis, black raspberry, blackberry, tar, smoked meat and minerals is superripe but not roasted. Plush, pliant, thick and deep; like liquid velvet on the palate, offering a 3-D texture and a restrained chocolatey sweetness. For all its size, this powerful, obviously high-octane wine has plenty of energy. Saturates every square millimeter of the palate and builds impressively on the unflagging finish. One could drink this wine now for its sweetness or wait another ten years for more baby fat to be absorbed.
