The 2013 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is bold, plump and juicy. Dark blue and purplish hued fruits, smoke, black pepper, violets and lavender notes blossom in the glass. Bold and flamboyant in style, with plenty of underlying energy, the 2013 hits all the right notes. The vineyard sources are Cole Creek and Rodgers Creek. A touch of Viognier (8%) adds aromatic complexity. Today, the straight Sonoma Coast is my favorite of these 2013 Syrahs.
