Among these, the appellation wines are more direct in character and less concentrated than the vineyard designates, but they are not ‘lesser’ wines. The Sonoma Coast bottling is elegantly flavored, crisp, and full bodied; a vibrant, well balanced, intensely flavored wine with a long, complex finish. In aroma/flavor, it tastes of pineapple, lemon peel,  grapefruit, toast, honey, and spicy oak.
