Review

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum has more focus and nuance than the 2009. A big, broad-shouldered wine, the 2010 develops beautifully in the glass as the fruit fleshes out. Firm tannins frame a core of super-ripe fruit. The Annum is made almost exclusively from hillside fruit. It is also the ripest of the Ramey Cabernets and that overtness strikes me as a bit over the top, as the Annum often lacks the precision of the best Ramey wines. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.
