The 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is another outstanding wine from Ramey in this vintage. It is composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 6% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot and is a true Napa Valley wine, as it was sourced from areas across the entire appellation, including; 30% St. Helena, 29% Napa Valley, 15% Oak Knoll, 12% Napa-Carneros, 6% Mt.Veeder, 5% Diamond Mountain, 3% Oakville. This bold, expressive Cabernet opens with aromas of dark cherries and currants followed by exotic spices, dark chocolate shavings, floral, dried tobacco, anise and earthy minerals. On this palate this is full-bodied and well balanced with notable depth and concentration as it expands on to the long, opulent finish. This fantastic Cabernet should continue to drink well over the course of the next decade. (Best 2018-2028) - May, 2016 (JD)
