The Woolsey Road Vineyard Chardonnay is another extremely compelling wine from David Ramey. This fantastic Chardonnay comes from a cool site, with Old Wente cuttings taken from Ramey’s Chardonnay blocks in Platt Vineyard, which had been selected from the Hyde Vineyard. As this wine begins to open, gorgeous aromas of pear, lemon zest, crushed almond, and underlying hints of smoke all take shape in the glass. On the palate, this is beautifully textured and expressive, displaying wonderful balance and precision. The finish is marked by a beautiful touch of acidity keeping it fresh and inviting.
