The 2012 Platt Vineyard Pinot Noir is the first ever Pinot Noir from Ramey. The vineyard site is situated at 800’ on a south-facing slope that benefits from the cooling marine influence. In 2010 Ramey removed seven year old Wente Chardonnay trunks to make room for the addition of these Pommard and 828 Dijon Clones. This Pinot Noir brings zesty aromas of freshly crushed raspberry, wild berries and cranberry followed by intense spices, dried rose petal and fresh pine. This is a powerful Pinot Noir that demonstrates excellent depth along with a rich, velvety texture that is balanced by a wonderful touch of acidity. The finish is silky and persistent with wild berries and spices attacking your palate. An excellent debut for David Ramey's first Pinot Noir. 100 Cases made. (Best 2014-2024) Read more.
