A true amalgam of Napa Valley fruit, many important hillside and valley floor appellations are represented in this Cab: Mt. Veeder, Diamond Mountain, St. Helena, Oakville, Rutherford. Black currant, chocolate, savory spice and oak are prominent in the flavor profile. Its richness, roundness, soft tannins and approachability are all fundamental California North Coast. At 8,600 cases produced and widely distributed around the world, this is a signature Cab. Or, more importantly, an ambassador Cab, as it fully represents to the rest of the world just how uniquely pleasurable, while still sophisticated, an American Cabernet Sauvignon can be.

A rich and beautiful red with black currants and berries. Chocolate and spice too. Full body, round tannins and a long, long finish. A beauty. Drink now.

Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot round out the experience of this predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine. It presents a lovely expression of the Napa Valley in its spicy clove, cinnamon and cassis. Oak and tannin build up toward the finish, finding equilibrium in the wine’s balance of acidity and lush, dark fruit.

One of the great values in Napa Valley, David Ramey's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. The flavors are bold, intense and creamy, with silky tannins, voluptuous energy and tons of pure balance. The 2012 is delicious today, but also has enough depth to drink well for another decade-plus.

Medium-dark purplish ruby color; attractive, deep, spicy, cassis, black cherry, and boysenberry fruit aroma with hints of dried herbs, olive, and graphite; full body; big, rich, textured, current and dark berry fruit flavors with good depth and firm structure; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Deserves a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended.
