Deep ruby. Spicy black and blue fruits on the nose and in the mouth, with a hint of singed plum in the background. Smooth and open-knit, offering juicy blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors sweetened by a vanilla nuance. Lingers with very good smoky tenacity, leaving a peppery note behind.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of the house style. Soft, round and succulent, the 2011 presents an attractive array of dark fruit to match its supple, open personality. Sweet tobacco, dried herbs, mocha and spices are layered into the finish. The wine's mid-weight structure suggests it is best enjoyed over the next handful of years. There is a lot to like here.

Glass staining purple. Smoke-and-spice-accented aromas and flavors of dark berries and cola, with a hint of tobacco that gains strength with air. Shows very good energy and lift, with tangy acidity adding cut. Finegrained tannins shape the long, smooth, appealingly sweet finish. I suspect that this wine will drink very nicely in its youth.

A beautifully delineated, impeccable wine, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon impresses for its overall balance and sense of harmony. Grilled herbs, sage, rosemary and licorice add complexity as the wine opens up in the glass. The 2011 is vibrant and totally polished from the very first taste. It is an exceptional wine for the year. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026.
