Opaque ruby.  Intense cherry, blackcurrant and vanilla aromas are complemented by licorice, pipe tobacco and woodsmoke.  Plush, velvety black and blue fruit flavors pick up mocha and peppery spice nuances with air.  The vanilla quality repeats on the persistent finish, which is firmed by dusty, building tannins.  Shows its structure with air but doesn't come off as hard or edgy.

Ramey's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a very serious wine. Raspberry jam, wild flowers, spices and new leather meld together in a rich, explosive Cabernet Sauvignon loaded with fruit, depth and pure intensity. A big, full-bodied voluptuous wine, the 2010 is one of the better values in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. There is plenty of personality and character here.

The 2010 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon an outstanding 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker David Ramey was like an artist using Napa Valley as his pallete to make this incredible wine, using fruit sourced from St. Helena (40%), Oak Knoll (30%), Yountville (15%), Diamond Mountain (10%), Rutherford (4%) and Mt. Veeder (1%). It all comes together beautifully, ripe and fresh with aromas of blackberry, cassis, mint, herbs, vanilla bean and graphite, which leap from the glass. This is focused and extremely well made, structured around a firm, yet plush texture. The long finish is filled with dark fruits that linger effortlessly. A remarkable wine from David Ramey and his team, not to mention a fantastic value for the quality this wine brings. (Best 2015-2026) - November, 2013 - (JD)

Medium to medium-dark ruby; attractive, cassis and blackberry fruit aroma with hints of violets and vanilla; full body; forward, mouth-filling, cassis and blackberry fruit flavors with notes of mocha and charred oak; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Shows good depth and some elegance that will continue to develop with a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; 4,230 cases; 100% CS; released August 2013.

Opaque ruby. Powerful, smoke-accented cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by notes of dark chocolate and peppery spices. Rich yet lively, offering intense blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors that gain sweetness with air. Closes broad and smooth, with gentle tannins and a seductively sweet dark berry quality.
