The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum was even better and still has a youthful feel. Black fruits, graphite, chocolate, and charcoal notes give way to a rich, powerful, full-bodied beauty that has sweet tannin and an intense, length mouthfeel. Drink it over the coming decade or so.

From high on Diamond Mountain, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum exhibits an inky/blue/purple color as well as a smoky barbecue note in its creme de cassis, blackberry, licorice and camphor-dominated aromatics. This powerful, rich, stunningly concentrated 2007 will benefit from another 2-4 years of bottle age and should drink well for 20-25 years thereafter.

A bold, rich, expansive style, offering tiers of opulent blackberry and wild berry flavors, with touches of black and red licorice and a notable rustic hot brick wall earthiness, all of it dense, focused, complex and concentrated. Ends with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2020.

Inky ruby. Sexy raspberry and cassis on the nose, with complicating notes of incense and cigar box. Densely packed red and dark fruit flavors are framed by chewy tannins and pick up a bitter chocolate quality with air. Showing its structure more than it did last year, finishing very long, with pungent dark berry flavors and lingering spiciness. Pretty serious stuff, and built for aging.
