2015 Syrah, Sonoma Coast
The 2015 Syrah Sonoma Coast is a Côte Rôtie-lookalike and offers plenty of bacon fat and floral notes intermixed with pretty blackberry and raspberry fruit. Cofermented with 4% Viognier, it’s medium-bodied, seamless, and elegant, with terrific complexity. Drink it over the coming decade.
David Ramey's 2015 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) has turned out very nicely. Rich and exuberant in the glass, the 2015 possesses terrific fruit density and texture. Inky blue/purplish fruit, cloves, lavender and new leather all develop nicely in the glass. The 25% whole clusters are not especially evident. As always, Ramey's Syrah speaks with authority.
