This is the second vintage to be dominated by the Martinelli Charles Ranch on Bohan Dillon Road. Planted in 1982, this is one of the most spectacular vineyards in Sonoma County. Our Sonoma Coast bottling reflects its region and so is a bit crisper and leaner than our Russian River.
46% Martinelli Charles Ranch, 27% Sangiacomo (Green Acres and Tall Grass), 11% Sonoma Stage, 9% Hudson F-block, and 7% Rodgers Creek.

Greenish yellow. Smoke-accented aromas of pear skin, honey and iodine, with a floral nuance picking up strength with air. Sappy and broad, with deep, stony orchard fruit flavors and notes of chamomile and saffron. Offers an intriguing mix of depth and vibrancy and finishes with solid grip and spicy persistence. Give this a little air if you insist on drinking it now.

The 2009 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is a beautifully woven, chiseled wine laced with lemon, pear, almond and citrus notes. It possesses terrific energy and freshness through to the saline, vibrant finish. This is a terrific wine for the money. Drink: 2012-2017.
