Due to the recent cold front, we had a quiet couple of weeks in the cellar which allowed us to “catch up” and take care of topping all of the Russian River Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, and Rose. We also pressed all of the Russian River Pinot Noir tanks, and the Cole Creek Syrah, and now we are putting them into barrel.

The warmer weather this week ripened most or our fruit, so we are getting very busy again.

We received 75 Tons of Charles Ranch Chardonnay from Fort Ross-Seaview, and our last rosé (Syrah from De La Montanya, RRV).  We also received Alexander Valley Cabernet and Merlot from Glendale Ranch.

Today we are scheduled to receive De La Montanya Syrah and Lamoreaux Cabernet.

On Saturday, we are harvesting the Cabernet Sauvignon from Pedregal (the Pedregal PV arrived a couple weeks ago), Rodgers Creek Syrah, and the Brassfield Petit Verdot. The Brassfield Cabernet and Malbec are fermenting at 202. We will be getting Paras Merlot from Mt. Veeder on Sunday, and the Petit Verdot and Cabernet from Glendale will be arriving on Monday.

We are still waiting for Hyde Cabernet, Merlot and Cooley Ranch Cabernet.

Yesterday was a ‘red letter day’ at 25 HBG – all Chardonnay is in, has finished pressing and the interns have already cleaned the press!
